Although Tony has exhibited world-wide in Galleries and at Art-fairs (see exhibitions) he has an large and growing international following, which enables him through curators to organise successfully exhibitions at his home. I had the pleasure of curating a similar event in 2008. That show which was originally intended for one evening only had to be repeated twice by popular demand.
The intimacy of the artist's home permits the works to be admired from close-up and at leisure without any pressure or formality. Tony, Marietta and I will be absolutely delighted to welcome you in this informal manner again. I wish you great enjoyment of Tony's Essence of Landscape.

Minimalist in his approach, but very confident in his expression. Tony seems to ignore convention, to reach out into the possible rather than probable.
My name is Bryan Thomas, my passion is contemporary art, I collect it for it's creativity, intellectual challenge, and visual stimulation. It also proves to be a better investment for me, in these difficult times, than the stock market! Tony asked me to comment on his work, a challenge as I am not an art critic but I am a collector so here goes:
Anthony Krikhaar, a Dutchman by birth, comes from a 'school' of artists that includes the finest in the world. A challenging background. He does not follow a 'school', he is his own man and his work has become very creative. Bold, and original.
He has found his own route, painting through landscape, portrait, the setting sun, and the female nude. He is minimalist in his approach, but very confident in his expression. Tony seems to ignore convention, to reach out into the possible rather than probable.
To deliver his interpretation, it has vitality, originality, challenge and beauty. His new work consists of two paintings combined. One is painted on panel, the other on the reverse of cast Perspex. The two panels are combined close together, other times he leaves a small gap to emphasise the space between them.
The effect is contemporary and the way his paintings are constructed frameless. Endeavours have been made to photograph his new work, but none of it measures up to the real thing. So come and see it! There are also a stunning series of landscapes.
I have a collection of some 30 contemporary works of art- its my hobby, and a very good investment! To date I only have one Krikhaar, but this year there will be more.
